Naturally dyed silk organza.
The body opens. Then it closes, or tries to. The silk hangs in two registers: an upper canopy, flushed and distended, and below it a smaller, cooler panel still attached, not yet let go.
Plant dye marks where the breast and belly deflated. The cord braids downward and doesn't end cleanly.
Birth severs one thing and leaves everything else still connected.
